Mizzou had a huge victory in Athens, GA last weekend!!! Athens, GA kinda makes me think of Athens, Greece, which in turn, made me think about when the Greeks defeated the Romans in one of the battles fought in the Pyrrhic War……loll….ok, I’ll make my point!!!.... Have you ever heard of a Pyrrhic victory????.... Here’s the cliff note version---In 280 B.C. Greek King Pyrrhus of Epirus defeated the Romans in an epic battle but he ended up losing the war due the irreplaceable casualties he suffered in the battle. Basically, a Pyrrhic Victory is a victory with such devastating cost that it equals defeat!!!.....That is exactly, what happen to the Mizzou Tigers last weekend!!! They defeated the Georgia Bulldogs in an epic battle but in the process, they lost their starting QB James Franklin….The loss of QB James Franklin may have cost them the SEC East title!!!………and on the other side of the ball, the Gators continue to improve each week offensively and the defense continues to be outstanding!!! Gators win and cover 21-17!!!
